chambres d’hotes is situated in the foothills of
the Pyrenees. |

beautiful area has stunning views both summer and
winter….. a delight for cyclists and walkers
or for those who just want to soak up the scenery.
There are several ski stations nearby suitable for beginners
and the more experienced. Also husky dog sleigh rides.
There are several thermal spas all within an hour’s
drive. The historic towns of Foix and Mirepoix are just
half an hour away.
Nearby is a lovely lake beach surrounded by trees –
with restaurant and watersports facilities.
Also in the area are many pre historic caves.
For those who like to shop, Toulouse is an hour and a
half’s drive (or hop on a train from Foix).
Why not visit tax-free Andorra, the same distance away
through the mountains.
Our village of Belesta has two hotels/ restaurants/ bars,
mini-markets, bakery, La Poste etc. all a few minutes
walk from the house.
Our house is on the road to the Château of Montsegur
and just ten minutes walk to the Intermittent Fountain
of Fontestorbes.

Belesta
and Surrounding Area
Our
village of Belesta has 2 Hotels and restaurants
and bar. There is a market twice a week and
has a lovely river running through it where
the locals fish.
Our house is on the road to Montsegur, a famous
Cathar castle which is visited each year by
30.000 people. Nearby are several famous prehistoric
Grottos including Lombrives and Bedeilhac.
The nearby villages and towns all have their
weekly markets and the old walled town of Carcassonne
is only an hour's drive away. |

and swimming. Lots of fishing in nearby rivers. For

drive away, if you don't want the worry of driving
there, jump on a train at Foix. |
